Happy Body - Happy Mind - Happy Life

Healthy body - Healthy mind - Healthy life!

Its Spring so I thought I’d share with you a kick butt email to get you going!

This weeks topic:

You feel tired? Grumpy? Irritable? …Why?

Engaging in a healthy lifestyle also relates to mental wellbeing which is too often forgotten.

Invest In Yourself!

·     Take charge of your life and feel good about the choices you make.

·     Gain energy and feel more fit.

·     Experience improved physical health.

·     Gain a positive outlook and find more enjoyment in your life.

·     Create a healthier work environment

·     Be a role model for your family and friends.

Easy ways to be the best you possible!

Set small goals that you can add to your daily life such as

“Im going to make a conscious effort to drink 3L of water everyday” or “I’m going to get off the bus/train one stop earlier today”.

      Find the positive in everyday

Find joy in being active Move everyday

Look at your diet…seriously…look at it, what can you improve?

Quit whinging, funnily enough it doesn’t make you feel any better.

Stop making excuses to why you cant achieve a healthier you, and just do it.

Influence others, if you are constantly negative…you are only going to attract negativity.. including people

Get rid of the clutter, be at your desk, negative people,

BE the type of person you would want to hang out with

Surround yourself with those that add VALUE to your life

You only get given one life…unless you’re a cat…well then good on you!

Long Time No Blog!

Winter Is Coming/Is Here!

- Cracked lips..that would make your lover cringe
- Dry face
- Scales on legs that causes you to be mistaken for a mermaid that's been caught in a dust storm
- White heads/blind pimples
- Pasty Tan...similar to Lindsay

  • Cracked lips: caused mainly by dehydration...water, drink thy water..moisturise those puckers with a good lip balm! However avoid ones that contain *Phenol *Menthol *Camphor as whilst these ingredients create a 'soothing/tingling/this feels like it's working feeling' they actually dry out your lips and soon after you'll find yourself wanting to reapply! Go natural or organic!
Also exfoliate with a bit of sugar and paw paw :)
  •  Dry Face: especially around the nose and cheeks, TIP, you will need to up the ante with your moisturiser in winter, so if you're still using your summer one and you have dry skin or feel like every laugh you're getting wrinkles then swap it out to a more nourishing product, jojoba, Vitamin E, Apricot Kernel, products rich in anti-oxidants are great. Also keep up the water!

  • Mermaid legs: Yep those loonnngg hot showers make you feel great but they also dry out your skin! Have a bath/shower and add oils such as Nutri-Rich Shower Oil , Exfoliate 2-3 times a week and you guessed it M.O.I.S.T.U.R.I.S.E. the apricot spray is so fast and easy..Have you had a glass of water yet?

  • White heads/blind pimples: Mainly caused by dead skin cells, hair follicles which block pores. Solution, make sure you are exfoliating 2-3 times a week, use a scrub that has round granules that wont be too coarse for your skin!

  • Nail that tan: Moisturise with a light cream before you self tan, it will not only make it stay for longer but will also create a glow and minimise scales especially if you continue to moisturise the following days! The apricot spray mentioned earlier is the bomb!

Key Theme

Water, H2O, Sky Juice.. what ever you want to call it, just make sure you are getting your 8 glasses, it does wonders!

Welcome to my cruelty free collection Illamasqua!

  1. Several cosmetic tests commonly performed on mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs include:
    • skin and eye irritation tests where chemicals are rubbed on shaved skin or dripped into the eyes without any pain relief.
    • repeated force-feeding studies that last weeks or months, to look for signs of general illness or specific health hazards.
    • widely condemned “lethal dose” tests, where animals are forced to swallow large amounts of a test chemical to determine what dose causes death.

I thought I would post a little something about the products in my kit and why!

My makeup kit is my pride and joy; I collect only the most beautiful products from a lot different ranges, the tried and true!

For me, products have to pass my test in order for them to have a home in my kit, however today I will be focusing on just one.

If you didn’t gather from the title, it must pass the CRUELTY FREE test!  That is, the products should be dermatologically tested on humans, not wee little animals. With the strong knowledge we have today there is no reason to test on animals, if the ingredient is that iffy, why the need to put it in a cosmetic? The bunny is not going to tell you whether that lipstick made her lips chap, or the mascara has made her eyes sting. Instead she will most likely be just feeling miserable, for what??  She wont be wearing it.. Her complexion doesn’t even match that blush!

The segment I posted at the beginning really is quite disturbing and to think it is only a small portion of what actually happens.

So this is why my kit is  filled with gorgeous products that do not test on animals, not just in Australia, but across other countries. This is something that I firmly believe in. I strive to find great quality products and support those companies who support a better future.

I know you will love the products too!

Blue Bells

Ok so for Spring this year, we are taking a trip back to the 90's, yes the blue lids are back!!!  Don't fear though, you can pull this look off and avoid the disastrous flashbacks if you stick to a few simple rules.
1.  If you are doing a bright eye like blue, do stick to a nude lip and keep it light on the cheeks, a NC Peach blush or our NC Bronzer will compliment
2. Be mindful of your application, where and how much! A little goes a long way
3. Do practice at home on before your outing if you are a bit cautious!
4. First time user since the 90's or in general?? Try starting out with subtle looks e.g. use an angled brush along the lash lines (very lightly on the bottom), not on the waterline.

For those who want a BAM HOT LOOK!!

1. Use NC Titanium eyeshadow to cover lid, dab with full brush to emphasise pigment
2. Use NC Turquoise with a smaller brush or angled to follow your crease and slightly wing your shadow.
3. You can use black pencil or liquid eye liner along the top lashes!
4. Dont forget mascara!
